Dating Violence Prevention for At Risk Youth The Michigan Coalition Against Domestic and Sexual Violence (MCADSV) is partnering with the Michigan Network for Youth and Families (MNYF) to design and deliver a groundbreaking strategy on adolescent dating violence prevention and intervention in communities across Michigan. New and improved partnerships are being forged between domestic violence and runaway, homeless youth, and street outreach service providers working with disconnected youth in Basic Center, Transitional Living, and Street Outreach Programs. The collective goal is to more adequately address the needs of homeless and runaway youth and teens who have already been victimized, and to work together to prevent future victimization by a current or future dating or intimate partner. Using a community development model, MCADSV and MNYF are providing technical assistance to two communities in order to pilot community-based strategies on adolescent dating violence prevention to address those needs. This Building Capacity for Domestic Violence and Youth Organizations project was fully funded under the Administration on Children, Youth and Families Discretionary Grant #90EV0333, awarded to the Michigan Coalition Against Domestic and Sexual Violence from the US Department of Health and Human Services.
