The Michigan Resource Center on Domestic and Sexual Violence enhances the capacity of individuals and organizations to prevent violence against women and strengthen service delivery for survivors. This unique collection of books, videos, journals and other media promotes awareness and increases accessibility of educational information and resources for the state of Michigan. These materials are useful for training, counseling, education, research, nonprofit business management, program development and activism. The Resource Center is a collaboration of the Michigan Domestic Violence Prevention and Treatment Board and the Michigan Coalition Against Domestic and Sexual Violence Michigan. The Michigan Domestic Violence Prevention and Treatment Board is the primary funder and owner of the collection. Additional funding is provided by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and other generous supporters of Michigan Coalition Against Domestic and Sexual Violence Michigan. How it Works... The services of the Resource Center are available to individuals and organizations working to end violence against women in Michigan, as well as the general public. The Resource Center is happy to respond to telephone and electronic information requests from patrons. You can visit the Resource Center Monday - Friday 8:30 am-5:00 pm, or materials can be mailed anywhere in Michigan free of charge. Reference Service and Technical Assistance... The Resource Center offers a reference service and technical assistance to patrons looking for information, statistics, and best practices on issues of violence against women. The Resource Center staff will assist patrons in identifying books, videos and other materials to meet their information needs. Over
5000 Books and Manuals... Print resources on domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, violence prevention, nonprofit management, program development, fund development, medical and legal response to violence against women, public policy, advocacy and more! Books can be borrowed for 3 weeks. Over
